Addiction
Drugs are not the only habit...
Lyrical Sonnet by Brogan Archer
Illustrations by Shania Chua
Back and forth, it’s impossible to end
With a truly irreplaceable bond
That is incapable to fully mend
But now we are failing to correspond
I want to let you go, but I just can’t
Even if you’re gone, I’m still holding on
Yearning for attention, just as a plant
Like a plant’s water, I’m forever drawn
And then you return like you always do
Leaving me to think the motivation
And each time I inherit deja vu
As I come up with an allegation
I know one day I will learn to let go
And you will be the first one I will show
